Whether you will be visiting Kiawah or Seabrook this March, or you are one of our permanent residents, check out some of the most popular events that will be happening around the Lowcountry this month.
Charleston Wine + Food Festival
March kicks off with a bang as the Charleston Wine + Food Festival rolls into town from March 2nd through March 6th. See, sip, taste and savor all the many flavors in store at this world-class culinary experience that infuses home-grown charm with the country’s top chefs, winemakers, beverage experts, storytellers, artisans, and more. The five-day menu of more than 100 events includes offerings sure to please every palate.
Charleston Gallery Association Artwalk
Charleston is home to some of the most talented artists in the country. Take the opportunity to explore over 40 downtown galleries on Friday, March 4th from 5 – 8pm during the Charleston Gallery Association Artwalk. Refreshments will be provided and many of the original artists will be in attendance as well.
Disney’s Fantasia Live in Concert
The Charleston Gaillard Center presents Disney’s Fantasia Live in Concert on Friday, March 4th. Experience live music from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra accompanying scenes from Walt Disney’s original Fantasia from 1940 and its popular sequel, Fantasia 2000.
Charleston Fashion Week
Since its founding in 2007, Charleston Fashion Week has quickly become one of the premier fashion weeks in the country. Held in Marion Square in downtown Charleston, this five-night celebration from March 15th – 19th features an exclusive style lounge pre-party, more than 40 runway shows, and chic after-parties.
Charleston Antiques Show
Head over to Memminger Auditorium in downtown Charleston for the 13th Annual Charleston Antiques Show. From March 18th through March 20th you can view an incredible showcase of English, European, and American furnishings, art, jewelery, etc. from the 17th to 20th centuries.
The Phantom of the Opera
For the first time, The Phantom of the Opera, will come to the Lowcountry as part of a brand new North American Tour. The North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center will feature this breathtaking production from March 23rd through April 3rd. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before.”
Spring Wednesday Wine Strolls
Wednesday, March 23rd kicks off Spring Wednesday Wine Strolls through May 25th at Middleton Place. Each week, sample specially selected wines from around the world at one of America’s oldest landscaped gardens from 6 – 8pm. Cheese and crackers will also be served and guests will receive 10% off at the Middleton Place Restaurant.
Freshfields Village Spring Concert
Head over to Freshfields Village on Friday March 25th from 6 – 9pm to enjoy live music by Louie D. Project – a four-piece ensemble that features a variety of jazz, rock, funk, and hip-hop music.
Easter on Kiawah Island
There are tons of things to do on Kiawah Island for Easter this year! Enjoy Easter Brunch at The Jasmine Porch, an Easter Buffet at The Atlantic Room, Brunch at Tomasso at Turtle Point, and a buffet at The Grand Oaks Ballroom at the Sanctuary which will feature an appearance by the Easter Bunny himself, and an Easter Egg Hunt & Toss on Sunday, March 27th at 10:00am in Night Heron Park.
Easter on Seabrook Island
Bring the kids over to the Island House on Seabrook Island on Saturday, March 26th for their annual Easter Egg Hunt! Children of all ages are welcome to come out and join the fun that starts at 10:00am on the Island House Front Lawn. There will also be an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 27th at 7:00am on The Ocean Terrace followed by complementary coffee and danish. Admission is free and no reservations are necessary. There will also be an Easter Buffet at the Palmetto Room & Bohicket Lounge on Sunday, March 27th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm and the Atlantic Room from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.
Celebrate Easter early at Middleton Place on Saturday, March 26th with an egg hunt in the beautiful gardens. Children can also play colonial games, participate in the Egg Roll and Egg Toss, and create Easter crafts. The event is free with general admission.
Freshfields Village Spring Festival
Bring the entire family over to Freshfields Village on Saturday, March 26th for their annual Spring Festival from 11am – 3pm. Kids can enjoy games, an inflatable jump castle, face painting, and spring crafts while you browse the work of Kiawah and Seabrook Artist Guilds and enjoy delicious food from local vendors.
