Holiday Festival of Lights
All Month Long – 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm (Sun – Thurs) 5:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Fri & Sat)
The Holiday Festival of Lights returns to make merry magical memories at James Island County Park for its 30th year! This vibrant light show is one of Charleston’s most cherished holiday events, featuring an estimated two million dazzling lights.
Charleston Boat Parade
Saturday – December 14, 2019
Charleston’s premiere on-the-water holiday event! Charleston Holiday Parade of Boats participants decorate their boats and sail the Charleston Harbor to delight thousands gathered along the shore. View the procession along Charleston’s waterfront – the festivities begin along the shores of Mount Pleasant at 5:00 p.m.and viewing from the downtown peninsula starts around 7:30 p.m.
Homegrown Holiday Bazaar
Saturday – December 7, 2019 @ Mullet Hall on Johns Island
10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Free Admission – Parking On-site
The Homegrown Holiday Bazaar is the area’s one-stop shop for all things LOCAL & FESTIVE! There will be around 100 vendors and farmers, Holiday Hay Rides, an Antique Tractor Show, a Kiddie train ride, Horse Rides, live music, a DJ, a silent auction, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Many local food trucks will also be on site along with warm drinks, local craft beer, and wine. There will also be tons of fun activities for all ages including several seasonal-themed games, crafts, cookie decorating, ornament making, and bounce houses.
Kiawah Island December Events
The 42nd Annual Kiawah Island Marathon
December 14, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Now entering its 42nd year, the Kiawah Island Golf Resort Marathon starts and finishes in beautiful East Beach Village. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of maritime forests, marshes, and grand homes throughout the Island community. The only thing more wonderful than the scenery is the moment you cross the finish line after completing your full or half marathon!
Glow in the Dark Run 5k
December 13 @ 5:30 pm
Join us the evening before the race for a glow-in-the-dark party! This out-and-back course on the beach features black-light bubble stations and glow in the dark color throw stations. End the race with a DJ hosted party on the beach with color throws and glow gear giveaways! Register online at kiawahmarathon.com.
Pre – Race Yoga
December 13 @ 7:00 pm
Join us the evening before your run to celebrate with some yoga! This upbeat class will release your muscles to get you ready for the race.

Cookie Decorating at The Sanctuary
