Jenny Bernard
Sales Agent
Jenny’s understanding of real estate began long before her own career in the industry. Her father developed some of the East Coast’s most distinguished golf course communities, and dinner-table conversations often centered around land use, course routing, and the small choices that make a master-planned community feel inevitable. When she first visited Kiawah Island in 1984, she understood instinctively what set it apart.
Growing up around thoughtfully planned residential and golf communities gave her an early understanding of the qualities that continue to define Kiawah Island today: intentional design, world-class amenities, and enduring value.
Jenny returned to the Sea Islands with her children in the early 2000s and quickly realized it was the place her family wanted to put down roots. They have now called the islands home for well over a decade.
Her father’s work included celebrated golf course communities and clubs across the East Coast, among them the Robert Trent Jones Club in Virginia, Treyburn Country Club in North Carolina, and projects connected to Hope Valley Country Club in Durham. Jenny later became involved with Essex County Club outside Boston, further deepening her familiarity with private club communities and lifestyle-driven residential markets.
Jenny began her own career in real estate as a sales assistant at a master-planned waterfront community on Johns Island, where she quickly fell in love with the work and never looked back. The experience gave her an on-the-ground familiarity with the Sea Islands and the lifestyle that continues to draw people here year after year — the natural beauty, the privacy, and the strong sense of community that makes these islands unlike anywhere else. She later moved into the broader Charleston luxury market, representing buyers and sellers in transactions across Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and the coastal communities in between. Joining Pam Harrington Exclusives felt like a natural and exciting next step, aligning her with the firm that knows these islands best.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Education from Lesley University — the latter, she’d tell you, shows up in her work more than you might expect. Real estate transactions are, in their way, an exercise in helping clients navigate unfamiliar terrain, and Jenny has a teacher’s instinct for making complicated decisions feel manageable. She believes deeply in Maya Angelou’s observation that people may forget what you said or did, but never how you made them feel — a philosophy that shapes every interaction, whether with clients, fellow agents, or vendors alike. Clients describe her as thorough, calm under pressure, and genuinely invested in how the experience feels — not just how it concludes.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find Jenny cheering on her alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels, teaching yoga, on the golf course, or biking Kiawah’s paths with her family. She would love to help you discover why so many people fall in love with Kiawah, Seabrook, and the greater Sea Islands area — just as she did.
