August also tends to be a fairly rainy month along the coast of South Carolina. Come prepared with rain gear and activities in mind for rainy afternoons.

Visit Charleston Museums & Art Galleries

Charleston is home to world-class museums and art galleries that are perfect for exploring when the weather is too hot or rainy to spend the day outside. Charleston Farmers Market

The Charleston Farmers Market is a Saturday tradition in downtown Charleston. Located in Marion Square at the corner of King Street and Calhoun Street vendors offer everything from original artwork and jewelry, to handmade soaps, fresh produce, artisan cheeses and so much more. The Charleston Farmers market runs every Saturday from 8 am til 1 pm from April thru November. Friends and family look forward to the live music, food concessions, and perusing over 100 local vendor stalls. Save room for a Nutella crepe!

Second Sunday on King

King Street in downtown Charleston, SC is recognized by the U.S. News & World Report’s as one of the 10 Best Shopping Streets in the U.S. Every 2nd Sunday of the month King Street becomes a pedestrian only walkway with outside dining, street musicians, and area retailers opening their doors creating a one of a kind festive afternoon. The street is blocked off from 1 to 5 pm. So bring the family dog, or just come and meet up with your friends for the social event known as Second Sunday. You never know who you might see!

Weekly Summer Events

Every Monday in the Summer from 4 pm til 8 pm stop by Freshfields Village for the Monday Farmers Market. Local food artisans offer delicious handmade pastas and sauces; fresh baked goods, local cheeses, farmers featuring local certified organic produce, fresh local seafood, and packaged and prepared foods including jams, jellies, pecans, olive oils, sweets, and more. Food vendors are also on hand. Don't miss the ribs and fresh pork rinds!

Music on the Green is a summer tradition for residents and vacationers alike. Thursday nights from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Freshfields Village. This free concert event features a different band each week. Bring a chair or a blanket and grab some take out from the Harris Teeter store for an evening of music fun.

Join in on the fun every Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm for the Summer Snag Night Series at Freshfields Village. Shag the night away to your favorite beach music and other favorites. Learn the basics or show off your skills at the Lakeside Dock for this fun summer event.

Weekly Activities: May 31 – August 6, 2021

Family Bonfire Night

Join in on the fun for the Monday night bonfire at the Seabrook Island Beach Club. The bonfire takes place at 8 pm and costs $6 per person. Call 843.768.2529 for reservations.

Tie-Dye

On Tuesdays & Thursdays, come and get colorful with some tie-dye! Hosted at the Beach Club Pools from 3 - 4:30 pm, the tie-dye night is fun for all ages. This activity is $18 per shirt.

Pool Games

Have a blast on Wednesdays and Fridays for an afternoon of pool games. Come splash around from 3 - 4:30 pm at the pool.
