How to Explore Bohicket Marina
1. Dine at Red’s Ice House
Red’s Ice House is a laid-back bar and grill that offers a casual atmosphere, diverse menu, and some of the most amazing sunsets in the Charleston area. The restaurant is known for its fresh-caught seafood selections and offers a variety of classic Lowcountry eats like crab cakes, shrimp baskets, fried oysters, and she-crab soup. (Be sure to try their famous New England-style lobster roll, made with cool lobster salad stuffed into a soft, grilled split-top roll. You’ll thank us later!) Guests can also enjoy happy hour from 4 to 7 PM, live music on Friday nights, and Sunday Funday drink specials like Bloody Mary’s and fresh squeezed mimosas.
2. Plan a Fishing Adventure
Bohicket Marina also offers family-friendly fishing charters with Cap’n Harry’s Custom Excursions & Tours. Guests can experience fishing, crabbing, or Lowcountry-style shrimping aboard a 24-foot Carolina Skiff, operated by Cap’n Harry. Winding through the beautiful Bohicket Creek and North Edisto River, Harry will take you to the best viewing spots for dolphin and birdwatching and will teach you all about native wildlife and local folklore. If you prefer to fish on your own, the marina also offers boat rentals for 2-hour, half-day, and full-day excursions.
3. Attend “Kick It at Bohicket!”
Every Tuesday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Bohicket Marina offers a fun family night complete with a jump castle, face painter, DJ, and shag dancing. Guests can challenge each other to a game of corn hole at the Ice Cream Shop, or spend some time with the kids and make beautiful sand art bracelets. The marina also offers a variety of festivals and fishing tournaments throughout the year, so be sure to check the website for a full list of Bohicket events.
