About La Tela Pizzeria
Johns Island resident David Robb purchased La Tela Pizzeria in April 2014 and continues to carry on the traditions of former owners, the Rinaldi Family. The restaurant name, recipes, and employees all remain the same. Robb believes the success of La Tela is due to its focus on fresh, quality ingredients provided by local island farmers. Today, La Tela Pizzeria maintains a garden-to-table philosophy, celebrating organic food and neighbors in the community.
La Tela offers a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that’s perfect for a casual lunch, dinner, or date night. Centered around an open kitchen, diners may observe as the chef prepares each meal. Seating is available in the main dining room, the secluded and sometimes lively bar area, and the seasonal outdoor patio – where pets are welcome to join!
From ingredients to preparation, La Tela focuses on delivering fresh, simple dishes. Their menu features an array wood-fired pizzas as well as homemade pastas, sub sandwiches or “grinders”, and signature Italian entrees. Guests may start with a fresh salad or a small plate, then share a 10 or 14-inch pizza. We suggest the fantastic fig pie featuring apple-wood smoked bacon, mozzarella, and fig syrup over a balsamic-herb vinaigrette base. Or dig into the mushroom ragout pizza with white truffle oil and peppery arugula – our office favorite! Wash it all down with a cocktail, Italian beer, or glass of wine and you’re ready for dessert!
La Tela Pizzeria serves lunch and dinner seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. and closing around 10 p.m. each evening. Seating is first come first serve with takeout available. Be sure to box up your leftovers for a tasty snack on your next beach day!
