FortyEight – A Wine Bar is one of the newest additions to Freshfields Village Shopping Center and is the perfect spot to unwind on your next trip to Kiawah or Seabrook Island. FortyEight offers an incredible selection of 48 wines by the glass, 840 hand selected wines by the bottle, 48 local and regional craft beers, and delicious light fare.
The owners of FortyEight, Amy and Loren, don’t believe that you need to spend an exorbitant amount of money for a premium bottle of wine. That’s why you’ll always find great wines by the bottle for $12, $15, and $20 that are produced all over the world, not just Napa and Bordeaux. FortyEight also carries varietals from New Zealand, Argentina, Italy, South Africa, and more! After you select which wine you’d like to purchase from the retail store, you are welcome to enjoy it in the wine bar for a nominal $15 service fee.
If you’re just heading to FortyEight to enjoy a relaxing afternoon or evening out, sample a small taste, a half glass, or a full glass you of any of their exceptional wines from their temperature controlled Wine Stations. Sit back and enjoy your drinks at the spacious bar or head outside and take in some rays on the quaint outdoor patio. They also offer an expansive beer list which features craft brews from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Not in the mood for wine or beer? Head next door to FortyEight’s sister store, Kiawah Spirits, for a variety of bourbon, scotch, vodka, and more.
When you stop into FortyEight, make sure you pair that great wine with some of their delicious food. The kitchen opens just in time for “Happier Hour” at 4:00pm Monday through Thursday and 12:00pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Memorial Day. The menu features a variety of local, regional, and international cheeses; charcuterie platters; salads and paninis; bruschetta; and delectable desserts ranging from artisan chocolates to savory bread pudding.
If you’re impressed with FortyEight – A Wine Bar, make sure you visit Amy and Loren’s other stores in Freshfields Village which include SeaCoast Sports and Outfitters, Coastal Footwear, Southern Tide – Presented by Island Sport, and Kiawah Spirits.
