Mingo Point sits privately on the banks of the Kiawah River, just before the entrance to Kiawah Island. Home to the Kiawah Island Golf Resort's longest-running event — Mondays at Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ — this covered riverfront pavilion is one of the Lowcountry's most beloved gathering places, and a year-round venue for private and corporate events.
Mingo Point Oyster Roast 2026
Come out to Kiawah Island and take part in a time-honored Lowcountry tradition. Set against the backdrop of the Kiawah River, the Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ has been drawing resort guests and locals alike for nearly four decades.
Fresh oysters are roasted over an open flame and served with all the traditional fixings. But the menu goes well beyond oysters: expect BBQ ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and a classic Lowcountry boil loaded with shrimp, potatoes, and corn. Add live music, a local artisan market, kids' activities, and sweeping river views, and you have one of the most memorable evenings on the South Carolina coast.
Tickets must be purchased in advance — no walk-up sales at the door, and no later than 9am the day of the event. Events sell out quickly, especially during peak summer weeks.
