Everything You Need to Know About Seabrook Island Golf Courses

Seabrook Island has long been a premier destination for golf in South Carolina. Year-round, area residents and visitors flock to the island to enjoy 36 holes of unique and challenging Seabrook Island championship golf.

Home to two beautiful and distinctly diverse play options, both courses offer lush greens and fairways, spectacular scenery, and great service - uniquely positioned to take in the nature and beauty around you.

Only Seabrook Island Club members and club guests may book golf tee times, so the courses are generally uncrowded. If you’re thinking about a move to a golf course community, Seabrook Island should be a contender. With 3.5 miles of beach and a short drive to historic Charleston and all its offerings, one can very much have the best of both worlds amid beach life and city life.

Seabrook Island Golf Courses: A Brief Overview

When you play at Crooked Oaks or Ocean Winds Golf Course, comfortable playing conditions allow for a leisurely experience, even during the busiest times of the year.

  • Ocean Winds Golf Course

You’ll battle breezes from the Atlantic Ocean when you play at Ocean Winds Golf Course.

While the course isn’t lengthy, you won’t find it any less challenging than others on this list.

This fairway is tightly designed, with a slope rating of around 40.

Willard Byrd’s Ocean Winds Golf Course on Seabrook Island offers a par 72 design over 6,800 yards.

With a USGA rating of 73.1, Ocean Wind’s offers inspiration and creativity for golf enthusiasts at any level. On the back nine, ocean breezes coming off the Atlantic are refreshing, yet challenging - often testing even the most seasoned players skills.

In 2020, Ocean Winds underwent extensive renovations, promoting this championship Seabrook Island course as one of the top golf courses in Charleston.

  • Crooked Oaks Golf Course

Book your tee time at Crooked Oaks Golf Course for a real challenge.

As its name suggests, you’ll play around the natural features of the lowcountry - it’s as beautiful as it is difficult.

Of the two golf courses on Seabrook Island, Crooked Oaks offers a more majestic, southern elegance.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Crooked Oaks golf course extends 6,780 yards, at a par 72. The course takes you across the marsh on a challenging journey through centuries old live oak trees and maritime forest.
