July 4th Update

Salute from the Shore is ON:

Estimated flyover time for Kiawah & Seabrook Island's is 1:15!!

This year’s Salute will include a flyover of F-18s from Marine Aircraft Group 31 from MCAS Beaufort and a C-17 Globemaster from the 701AS, Joint Base Charleston.

The Flyover will commence at 1:00 PM from the northern end of our coastline just outside of Myrtle Beach, and will conclude over Bluffton, SC around 1:25 PM.


Patriots Point Fireworks

Update: May 28, 2020:  Our 4th of July Fireworks Blast has been canceled as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19. We look forward to hosting special events and community gatherings when health officials say it is safe to do so.

Enjoy a front row seat to the fireworks display on board one of the most historic warships in the United States at the Patriots Point 4th of July Blast. Tickets go on sale in June for this annual lowcountry tradition. Patrons will enjoy live music, good eats and a 30 minute fireworks display at sunset. This event will sell out!

Charleston Farmers Market

Marion Square hosts the Charleston Farmers Market every Saturday from 8 am til 2 pm. This family friendly event is fun for all ages and includes live music, food concessions, and over 100 local vendors. Swing by for a quick bite, or pick up your weeks’ worth of fresh veggies and produce. Enjoy handcrafted jewelry, original photography and paintings, one of a kind furniture, textiles and more. You won’t want to miss Charleston’s most unique mix of local artisans! The Charleston Farmers Market runs April thru November.

Second Sunday on King

Second Sunday in Charleston offers an afternoon of vehicle-free, pedestrian-only exploration on King Street, which ranks as one of U.S. News & World Report’s 10 Best Shopping Streets in the U.S. This event is a great time to explore Charleston’s most widely recognized avenue whether it be strolling, shopping, dining, or enjoying live music. The event is held from 1 pm to 5 pm on the second Sunday of the month, every month.

Kiawah Island & Seabrook Island July Events

Due to Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, limited recreation programs will be offered this year.

July 4th Celebrations 

Update: All parades, festivals and fireworks are canceled. Limited options will be announced soon and posted here when available.

Kiawah and Seabrook Island offer a week of events centered around Independence Day. Join us for a celebration that is sure to create lasting memories.

Annual July 4th Kiawah events include the Patriotic Bike Parade, Independance Festival in Night Heron Park, Sand Sculpting Contest, Tie Dye Party and much more.

Seabrook Island annual July 4th events include Sprint Triathlon Relay, 4th of July (just over 5k) walk / run, Fourth of July Art Show at the Lake House and of course an amazing fireworks display on both islands.

Weekly Summer Events

Freshfields Update: We’re working hard to ensure our property remains as safe as possible for visitors and staff. At this time, we have paused our summer event series. July events will be posted here if they become available. 

Pick from the freshest produce and local crafts at the weekly summer Farmer’s Market featuring local certified organic produce, fresh local seafood, packaged and prepared food including jams, jellies, pecans, olive oils, sweets, handmade pasta, and more as well as Lowcountry crafts. Every Monday in the Summer from 4 pm til 8 pm.

Music on the Green is one of the best ongoing Freshfields Village events for music lovers. Every Friday night from May to September features a free concert on the Village Green. You can listen to a new band each week from 6 to 9 p.m. at this Kiawah Island summer concert series.

From Memorial Day until Labor Day come on out to Bohicket Marina every Tuesday night, 6:30 - 9 pm. Take in the beautiful views of Bohicket Marina along with live music and great fun for the kiddos! From one end of the marina to the other there are fun activities for the kids to enjoy and work out that last little bit of energy for the day! Included: Free entry, face painting, balloon artist, photo booth, sand art bracelets & corn hole!

  • Starlight Cinema

From June to August, view outdoor movies at Freshfields. Family-friendly flicks play every Wednesday at 8:30 pm on the Village Green. Check back to view Summer 2020 line-up!

Every Thursday night through August at Bohicket Marina. Check in begins at 6:30 and races start at 7! Don't have your own hermit crab? Rent one for the race for only $2! For questions call Todd at 248-719-0076.

Held the 3rd Saturday of every month on the Village Green, Cars and Coffee offers the opportunity to see some unique, antique and other cool styles of cars. Swing by from 9 - 11 am, on July 18th. Don’t forget to grab breakfast from JAVA JAVA!
