Our Favorite 4th of July Events on Kiawah Island

Friendly reminder: The town of Kiawah prohibits the discharging of fireworks on the island, except for Sparklers. This applies to property owners and visitors, who will be ticketed if found in violation.

The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has a whole day of fun planned on the Fourth of July. It begins with a fun tie-dyeing event at the pool deck. From 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., your kids can create a unique patriotic design while listening to music. There’s also a hula hoop contest as well as some more activities for the little ones.

If you’re feeling competitive, stop by the Sand Sculpture Contest. This annual event awards the most patriotic and creative creations. Even if you’re not participating, it’s fun to watch these artists at work.

Kiawah Island Bike Parade

At 5:00 p.m., join the Kiawah Island Fire Department for the Annual Patriotic Bike Parade. You’ll head down Sea Forest Drive and finish at Night Heron Park.

There, you’ll enjoy the Independence Festival in the Park. It features traditional carnival games, tie-dying, face painting, and more.

At the same time (6 - 9:30 pm) the Terrace Lawn at The Sanctuary will host a celebration that’s fun for the whole family. The Red, White & Blue Celebration features delicious food and drink as well as live music, a jump castle for the kids, and some unique games. Try your hand (or body) at Giant Human Foosball or play with the Giant Soccer Darts.

After both events, you’ll watch the fireworks show on Sanctuary Beach, which starts at 9:15 p.m. There’s nothing better than watching a beautiful and colorful display with your family to celebrate our country’s independence.
