MUSC Medical Pavilion Breaks Ground in 2024 near Kiawah and Seabrook Island

The Medical University of South Carolina in collaboration with local residents and community leaders is bringing emergency healthcare services to Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Johns Island.

As the population grows in our area, so does the need for convenient medical services. We are very excited to share this news from MUSC. The MUSC Medical Pavilion breaks ground in 2024, slated for completion in late 2025!

MUSC Emergency Care on Seabrook and Kiawah Island

This state-of-the-art medical facility will be located on Seabrook Island Road, near Freshfields Village and Bohicket Marina. Residents and guests of Kiawah and Seabrook will benefit from quick access to emergency services. This is a huge asset to our community, given the remote location of the Sea Islands.

Emergency care will include triage care, specialty care and trauma rooms.

In addition, radiology services with CT scans and lab diagnostic services will be available.

A helipad will offer critical patients' life-saving time in transport to MUSC health hospital in downtown Charleston.

Island Medical Pavilion Services at MUSC Health

  • What services does the New MUSC Medical Center at Kiawah Island Offer?

The new MUSC Health Medical Pavilion will provide life-saving care to Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Johns Island residents. In addition, it will provide area residents convenient proximity to primary and specialty care, as well as outpatient services.

Clinical services such as cardiology, orthopedics, and ENT services will be also available.

Locals will be able to receive physical therapy and occupational therapy services without traveling extensively.

The convenient access to additional health care services, including primary care, full lab services and diagnostic treatment fills an urgent need for an aging Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island population.
