Freshfields Village is a shopper’s paradise and offers plenty of high-end retailers for your shopping spree. From jewelry and clothing to home goods and furniture, you’re sure to find the perfect outfit, gift, or souvenir. Pick out casual resort wear for the rest of your trip and browse Lululemon, J. Mclaughlin, and Jayne for fabulous women’s attire.

Then, pick up groceries and household items at The Village Market by Harris Teeter, the only grocery store on the island. The Village Market offers prepared foods, made-to-order subs, and pizzas, a salad bar, a hot bar featuring breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a Starbucks!

Start the day with a cup of gourmet coffee from the local spot Java Java, then have lunch at Co-Op, Cafe Eugenia, or The Station Deli. 

Mexican is always a family favorite.  The fish tacos and guacamole at Cantina 76 hit the spot!  The Co-Op is a fun, intimate spot serving delicious gourmet sandwiches and frozies.

For a romantic dinner date, indulge in pizza, pasta, and other Italian cuisines at La Tela PizzeriaYou might also enjoy classic French fare at Hege’s or Asian-inspired hibachi and sushi at Fuji!  

For take-out, we love Cafe Eugenia.  The Mediterranian-inspired fare and pickled shrimp are so yummy and perfect for a picnic or Music on The Green.

Freshfields Village is not just a shopping and dining destination. It's a vibrant community hub.  Residents and visitors come together to celebrate a variety of events throughout the year.

From weekly farmers markets during the summer to monthly Cars and Coffee to Friday evening Music on the Green, there's always something happening at Freshfields. Dogtoberfest is an annual celebration of our furry friends that supports local pet rescue organizations. These events not only create a lively atmosphere but also foster a sense of community, bringing residents and visitors together to enjoy the festivities.

Spring Events


Every April the Green at Freshfields Village transforms into a rocking outdoor venue.  Blues by the Sea is an annual tradition featuring nationally renowned musical acts for a day of music and fun. 

A local's favorite!  Shine the chrome, polish the tires, and bring your classic or unique car to Freshfields for bragging rights!  Every third Saturday of the month throughout the Spring car enthusiasts gather at Freshfields. Grab a coffee at Java Java and check out what your neighbor keeps in the garage!


Summer Events


How would you like to taste the freshest local produce from the Lowcountry’s farmers? You can take home local fruits, vegetables, and crafts at the weekly Freshfields Farmers Market featuring certified organic produce, fresh local seafood, and packaged and prepared food like jams, jellies, pecans, olive oils, sweets, handmade pasta, and more. June through August on the Green at Freshfields Village.

For a night of dancing and fun, attend Music on the Greenone of the best ongoing Freshfields Village events for music lovers. Every Friday night from May to September, you’ll find a free concert on the Village Green. 

Movie buffs will love the Starlight Cinema! From June to August, watch outdoor movies during the Starlight Cinema Series every Wednesday. Most, if not all are kid-approved!


Fall Events


  • Fall Festival Weekend 

Celebrate autumn in the Lowcountry during Fall Festival Weekend. This program includes many different Freshfields Village events, like a special edition of Music on the Green, the Fall Farmers Market, Dogtoberfest, and a variety of games.


Winter Events


  • Freshfields Village Holiday Festival 

The merchants sponsor this three-day schedule of Freshfields Village events. Activities for children include face painting and holiday crafts. Families also love the live music and a chance to spot Saint Nick. 

Seafields at Kiawah Island: A Life Plan Community

Seafields at Kiawah Island is a luxury senior living community adjacent to Freshfields Village in Johns Island, South Carolina. It’s the first and only 62+ Life Plan community in the Kiawah and Seabrook Island area. Seafields offers independent and assisted living. Construction is underway with occupancy anticipated for the end of 2024.
