New Year’s Family Celebration at Night Heron Park
Ring in 2018 with friends and family amid live entertainment and fireworks at Night Heron Park. Dinner, including Kiawah favorites like roasted oysters, barbecued chicken, collard greens and Hoppin’ John, will be served until 9:30 p.m. Delicious desserts and kettle corn will also be available. This family-friendly event typically takes place on December 31st between 5:30 and 10 p.m. Other activities include train rides, jump castles, and party favors for all. The fireworks finale begins at 10 p.m. from the Night Heron Park Soccer Field, so be sure to stick around!
Teen Night New Year’s Bash
Do the kids need something to do while you enjoy a New Year’s Eve out on the town? On December 31st from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., kids aged 12 to 17 will love staying up late and taking over the Ashley Cooper Room at The Sanctuary. There will be music, PS4 games, snacks, crafts, and Wii competitions. Reservations are required, and entry costs $50 per teen.
New Year’s Day 5K
There’s no better way to start your year than a beach run! The 5K begins at 11 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the Sanctuary beach access and directs east toward the Ocean Course. You’ll run 1.55 miles, turn around and head back to the finish line. All participants will be entered into a raffle for some great giveaways! Water will be available at the start and finish line.
Annual Polar Bear Plunge
Plunge into the New Year at the annual Polar Bear Plunge this New Year’s Day at 12 p.m. Meet on Kiawah’s Front Beach and prepare yourself for a dive into the Atlantic. Whether you plunge solo or with the whole family, you’ll remember this event for years to come! Bringing your own towel is recommended.

Jasmine Porch New Year’s Eve Dinner and New Year’s Day Brunch

From 5:30 to 10 p.m. this New Year’s Eve, celebrate a new beginning at The Ocean Room. A seasonal steakhouse menu and libations characterize this celebration. For lighter options, the Sushi Lounge will be open for Southern-style sushi and smaller plates. Reservations are required.
The Lobby Lounge Live Music and After Party
Head to the Lobby Bar between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. for specialty cocktails and spectacular live music as you count down to the New Year. All guests are welcome to dance the night away on the dance floor and raise a glass of champagne to the New Year under the stars of the Grand Lawn. There will be a stunning fireworks display at midnight.
