Seabrook Island vs. Isle of Palms – Your Charleston Beach Guide

  • Isle of Palms

Isle of Palms is a favorite beach for both locals and visitors alike. It is a popular summertime destination due to its family-friendly atmosphere. The island is home to miles of beautiful beach, and public beach access is available at multiple points along the Isle of Palms Strip from 10th to 14th Avenue.

Convenient parking with easy beach access is available when you first arrive on the island. Parking here ranges from $10 to $12 per day. After a fun-filled beach day, the Isle of Palms Strip is a great place to wander gift shops or grab an ice cream cone and a slice of pizza!

  • Seabrook Island

If you are looking to avoid the beach crowds, then make your way to Seabrook Island. This private beach community is the neighboring island of Kiawah Island, located west of the Ashley River. Here, visitors can enjoy a variety of resort-style amenities, including an award-winning tennis facilitychampionship golf, and exclusive restaurants.

The barrier island is home to several excellent beaches, as well as the exclusive Seabrook Island Beach Club. North Beach is on Seabrook Island’s eastern shore, making it a prime spot to watch a classic Carolina sunrise. Pelican Beach, also known as Sunset Beach, is the best place to enjoy sunsets as the dolphins play in the surf.
