Mingo Point Thanksgiving Oyster Roast — Kiawah Island

Kick off the holiday weekend on Friday, November 27, 2026, at Mingo Point, Kiawah Island Golf Resort's longest-running event, right on the banks of the Kiawah River. Expect oysters roasted over an open fire plus a full BBQ buffet with ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, Lowcountry boil, Southern sides, and dessert, along with live music.

Seatings: 4–6 pm or 6:15–8:15 pm

Tickets: $65 for adults, $32 for ages 4–12, free for ages 3 and under. Buy tickets online by 9 am the day of the event; no walk-ups. Get tickets here.

Firefly Sunday Oyster Roasts

Firefly Distillery's Sunday roasts return to its five-acre field on Noisette Creek, with all-you-can-eat oysters from Reeds Catering and Bird Island Oyster Co. Each roast runs 11 am–4 pm, with oysters served from noon to 3 pm, plus live music, food trucks, and Firefly cocktails for purchase.

Tickets: $35 for the October and November roasts; ages 12 and under are free. Every guest needs a ticket, even if they aren't eating oysters. Tickets are sold online only through Bold Type Tickets; there is no box office on site.

Good to know: Oysters are dropped at community-style tables, so bring your own shucker and rag (or buy them in the gift shop). Blankets and chairs are welcome; outside food and drinks are not.

Lowcountry Oyster Festival - Boone Hall

The world's largest oyster festival is set for Sunday, February 28, 2027, at Boone Hall Plantation. That's later than its usual early-February date, so adjust your plans. Expect tens of thousands of pounds of steamed oysters, oyster shucking and eating contests, live music, a food court of local restaurants, and the "Pluff-a-Palooza" kids' area. Proceeds benefit the Charleston Restaurant Foundation. Buy tickets here.

Drayton Hall Deck the Hall Oyster Roast

Drayton Hall's annual holiday oyster roast returns on Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 2–5 pm on the grounds of the 1738 estate. Tickets include all-you-can-eat oysters, a chili bar, local beverages, and access to the exhibit galleries before the event (house tours not included). Bring lawn chairs; leave pets, coolers, and outside food at home. This one sells out every year. Get details and tickets.

Oysters on the Point — Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

This once-a-month winter series sets up on the beach at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina in Mount Pleasant, with buckets of steamed oysters, live music, s'mores around the fire pits, and plenty of cold drinks. Tides New Year's Day Oyster Roast — Folly Beach

Ring in 2027 at the Tides Hotel on Folly Beach. After the Folly Beach Polar Plunge, warm up at the hotel's traditional New Year's Day oyster roast with buckets of oysters and Southern New Year's staples like collards and Hoppin' John. Shucked & Sauced — Hampton Park

The Charleston Parks Conservancy's oysters-and-barbecue celebration is usually held the first Sunday in February at the Rose Pavilion in Hampton Park (30 Mary Murray Dr). Top Charleston restaurants, oyster farmers, and pitmasters serve alongside libations and live music from Dallas Baker and Friends.
