In February, Charleston is mild with temperatures in the 60s much of the time during the day. February varies year to year, and you can even experience temperatures as high as the 80s every once in a while. You'll enjoy sunny afternoons as well as overcast days. Gardens and Parks
Downtown Charleston boasts an incredible list of parks and squares to visit. The White Point Garden is believed to be one of the U.S's oldest pubic parks, while the Waterfront Park is an award-winning and modern space. On Kiawah Island, you'll find pristine nature and opportunities to view wildlife. The Heron Park Nature Center, Marsh Island Park, and Kiawah Beachwalker Park are great spots to visit and enjoy the scenery
On Kiawah Island, there are about 30 miles of bike paths and 10 miles of beach to cruise. And while Seabrook Island doesn't have as many bike paths, you can still ride all throughout the island. Book a bike rental and explore the Lowcountry on two wheels!

Roaring 20’s Gatsby Gala
If you missed out on the Roaring 20’s-themed New Year’s Eve parties, now is your chance to celebrate. The South Carolina Aquarium will be throwing an all-inclusive 1920’s-themed soiree benefiting The Charleston Animal Society. Dress to impress in your finest formal Gatsby attire for a night filled with live music, dancing, great food, and flowing booze. Southeastern Wildlife Expo
Calling all nature enthusiasts, art-lovers, and outdoorsmen! The Southeastern Wildlife Expo is one of the best annual events in Charleston. Experience it for yourself, February 14th - 16th, and see the best of nature, art, and wildlife. With fine art displays, sporting demonstrations, social events, kid’s activities, and educational workshops, there is something for everyone. Kiawah Island & Seabrook Island February Events
If you’ll be in town for the big game, head over to FortyEight – Wine Bar for a culinary event like no other. This VIP Party includes delicious house wines and beer hand-picked by the bar’s expert sommelier, as well as a delicious buffet. Freshfields Village Art & Wine Walk
One of the best February events on Kiawah Island is the Freshfields Village Art & Wine Walk! This year’s event will be held on Friday, February 14th from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Participating stores will feature local and visiting artists, a variety of wines, and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Stroll and sip as you browse fabulous works of art and listen to the sounds of smooth jazz. This year, there will also be a special exhibit on the Village Green featuring talented artist Benjamin Walls.

Freshfields Village Cars & Coffee
Held on the third Saturday of every month, Cars & Coffee is a favorite tradition for locals and visitors alike. Head over to Freshfields Village on Saturday, February 15th from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. for a fun morning enjoying unique, classic cars. The event is free, but coffee and breakfast is available for purchase from Java Java.
Rombauer Wine Tasting
Wine enthusiasts, rejoice! FortyEight – Wine Bar in Freshfields Village is hosting a fabulous tasting that you won’t want to miss. Stop by Thursday, February 27th from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and sample an array of Rombauer wines. The tasting is complimentary with a $2 donation to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
