Located along the Savannah River, Savannah is Georgia's oldest city and features the largest National Historic Landmark district in the country.

Mild temperatures in the spring are ideal for exploring the nature of the Lowcountry. Charleston is home to parks and trail systems for walking, hiking, running, and biking through towering oak trees, along beaches, and through tropical forests.

There is an array of exciting events taking place in the Lowcountry for St. Patrick’s Day each year, with the family-friendly parade beginning downtown at 10 a.m. This is the largest St. Paddy’s Day parade in the state, featuring fire trucks, military vehicles, marching bands, dancers, and Charleston’s very own Irish step dancers. In the month of March, the Art Film Series is holding a screening of The Legend of Bagger Vance, a film that tells the story of a golf tournament hosted by a struggling golf course during the Great Depression. Tickets are not required to attend the screening which will be held at the Municipal Center from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on March 4th, 2022.
