About the Seabrook Island Equestrian Center
Featuring enormous pastures, modern facilities, and an experienced and knowledgeable staff, the Seabrook Island Equestrian Center is one of the best equine facilities in the Lowcountry.
The center boasts 42 spacious stalls, 3 miles of trails, and plenty of friendly horses to ride.
The Seabrook Island Equestrian Center is located near the front entrance to the island. Members and guests may experience a unique opportunity to enjoy horseback riding on the beach. For beginners or less experienced riders three miles of trail meander through the island landscape.
The Equestrian Center also offers 42 stalls for short-term boarding and long-term boarding. The seasoned, equestrian staff members offer Western and English instruction for all ages and skill levels.
Seabrook Island Horseback Riding Adventures at the Seabrook Equestrian Center
The Seabrook Island Equestrian Center offers a variety of lessons and trail rides. From pony rides for the kids to riding horseback on the beach, there is something for everyone!
- Advanced Riders: If you have at least three years of experience, you may sign up for Advanced Beach Rides in the north beach area of Seabrook. Walk, trot, and canter your way along the beautiful coastline!
- Walking Beach Rides: This is a great choice for beginners over 12 years old. Take in the incredible oceanfront views from horseback while you walk along the shoreline.
- Beginner Trail Rides: Beginner riders over the age of 8 can meander through the woods, marshes, and tidal creeks of Seabrook Island.
- Pony Rides: Watch your child’s eyes light up with excitement while you lead them around the arena. Children up to age 8 are welcome to sign up for Pony Rides.
- Private Riding Lessons: All skill levels are welcome to sign up for private lessons.
Advanced reservations are required for all excursions. You’ll also need to dress in close-toed shoes, long pants, and a helmet (provided) to prepare for your ride. If you’d like to request more information or make a reservation, you can reach the Equestrian Center at 843.768.7541.

If you are looking for options closer to Seabrook, head over to Eden Winds Farm. It’s an excellent option for horseback riding on Johns Island, SC. All skill levels are welcome to participate in riding lessons. Whether you are a beginner or an equestrian pro, you can learn something new at Eden Wind. Lessons are available Wednesday through Sunday. They also offer children’s options and the choice to lease a horse long-term.
- Stono River Stable Farm, Johns Island, SC
Founded in 1969, the Stono River Stable features excellent stables and 300 acres to explore. When you visit, you’ll find outdoor jumping courses, a fabulous trail system, lessons, camps for kids, and more!
